Settlement Agreements (Compromise Agreements/Redundancy Agreements)

If you are unfortunate enough to be made redundant by your employer, and/or otherwise to be let go, it is likely, your employer will provide you with an Agreement setting out terms of your employment coming to an end, and giving details of monies that you will be paid including your notice, and (as relevant) any payment on account of redundancy/loss of employment. 

It is a legal requirement that you receive advice (ordinarily at the employer’s cost) as to the terms of that Agreement, the circumstances of your dismissal generally, and the monies being paid to you, and whether they are reasonable in all of the circumstances.
